Once called Boiler Tenders, in today's navy they are called
Boiler Technicians. The Canberra lived on fuel oil fired boilers that
provided superheated steam. Steam is the life's breath of our ship.
Without it, we are dead in the water and NOTHING works.
The men of B division kept our fires burning and the steam
flowing. The boiler rooms are hot and miserable places to work.
These guys lived in it and provided the energy for Canberra to accomplish her
mission.
