Incoming Rounds
These photos attest to the fact that life at sea can get to be exciting at
times. Those of us who were there, remember this day well.
During a shore bombardment mission, on
March 2, 1967, Canberra was struck by
counter battery fire from ashore. We sustained with two hits on the port
side amidships and some minor shrapnel damage from near misses, on the starboard
side.

luck, in more ways than one. Tuner mentions this in an article in the
Sea Stories section.
